There was a shooting on January 10 outside of Spin Night-club. Spin is located on Hancock Street in Mission Hills. Ap-parently a patron was unhappy with the theme of the evening, Reggae Sundays, and the $10 cover that was required to enter. While the man did pay the cover charge, once inside he began complaining about the music, food and cost of entry.
The man’s disruptive behavior was annoying other patrons, resulting in club security asking him to leave. After retrieving a gun from an unknown location, the man returned to Spin Nightclub, and began shooting a gun at the pavement outside of the club. One of the bullets ricocheted off of the pavement and struck another man in the thigh.
Chris Braga, Owner of Spin Nightclub, indicated that he was grateful that no one was seriously injured. This was the first incident of this type at the club.
The shooter was described as a black male, 25-30 years old, wearing a gray shirt and baggy jeans. No further information was available at the time San Diego LGBTWeekly went to press.
