“Kill the Faggot” Game Killed

“Kill the Faggot,” a game recently launched on the Steam game site, was taken down on Monday after being up and available for players for several hours. Through its”Greenlight” service, Steam allows smaller game developers to show their wares for the low entry price of $100. It was clear with the launch of “Kill the Faggot” that Steam was not effectively curating games loaded to the site. While it has policies against such game submissions, the offensively titled game made it through any filtering or monitoring software the company may use.

The title says it all. The game’s objective is to ‘eliminate’ members of the LGBT community. You get extra points if you kill a transgender person. Occasionally when a certain kill happens the game exclaims “AIDS carrier eliminated.” Points are deducted if you kill a straight person.

The game developer, Skaldic Games, responded negatively to the game being killed on Steam. The owner of Skaldic Games, Randall Herman, wrote, “These people that think if you are even remotely homophobic, you are ‘hateful’ and a ‘bigot,’ and do everything they can to destroy you in every vicious way possible.” Herman continued, “So I decided to go down a path that most developers are afraid to go down: to piss these people off by making the most overly offensive game possible to these idiots to prove a point.”

Do you get his point?

  1. WTF?! This is terrible. This asshole needs to practice what he preaches. I’m not Christian, but I did read a part in the Bible that Jesus says “I judge no man”. He should be tarred and feathered for this outrage. Smh in disbelief.
