I’m one of the few people who greatly disliked the first two seasons of American Horror Story. I found them confusing, sadistic and misogynistic, like a supernatural version of Ryan Murphy’s seminal series Nip/Tuck. However, I’m rather excited about the new season, which Murphy promises to be less cruel and more campy, and it features series regulars Jessica Lange and Sarah Paulsen, as well as two of my favorite actresses, Kathy Bates and Angela Bassett. This story is about a magic school in New Orleans and a power play among the country’s most powerful witches. It should be a hoot.
