‘Care with Pride’ returns

Care with Pride, an innovative anti-bullying program launched in 2012 between PFLAG and Johnson & Johnson is back for 2013.

This year, the Care with Pride campaign is honoring PFLAG’s founder, Jeanne Manford, who passed away in January at the age of 92. In 1972, Jeanne Manford courageously faced down bigotry and showed support for her son by marching alongside him in New York City’s Gay Pride march.

This act turned out to be the first steps in the founding of PFLAG, an international organization that is committed to advancing the equality of lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) people through its mission of support, education and advocacy. In speaking up, her voice helped change the world and inspired others to act as well.

Consumers can support PFLAG anti-bullying efforts and honor Ms. Manford and other heroes like her with a $5 donation to PFLAG by texting HERO to 81550. The Johnson & Johnson Family of Consumer Companies will match the donation dollar for dollar.

Funds raised by the Care with Pride campaign will support PFLAG, including its “Cultivating Respect; Safe Schools for All” initiative that provides schools with support and resources.
