San Diego to honor ‘My Princess Boy’ author

Cheryl Kilodavis, author of My Princess Boy, will be awarded the Harvey Milk Equality Award of San Diego County in honor of her book’s strong anti-bullying message and her ongoing work for understanding and acceptance during San Diego’s third annual Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast, May 20.

“My goal with this book and sharing my journey is to create a space in this world where children who are different, feel different or express themselves differently can be accepted for who they are,” Kilodavis said. “That space can only be opened by you and your conversations. I hope My Princess Boy can help to start that dialogue.

This Harvey Milk Diversity Breakfast brings together all San Diegans who support equality and justice in celebration of the life and work of Harvey Milk.
