Let Me Down Easy

San Diego Repertory Theatre and La Jolla Playhouse present The Second Stage Theatre’s production of Let Me Down Easy conceived, written and performed by Anna Deavere Smith, who Newsweek called “the most exciting individual in American Theatre.” For the past eight years, Smith has interviewed hundreds of Americans to create a virtuosic and moving show about the power and vulnerability of the body, the price of health and the resilience of the human spirit.

Debbie Reynolds

The Welk Theatre in Escondido presents An Evening of Comedy and Music with Debbie Reynolds. Most noted for singing “Good Morning” in Singing in The Rain starring Gene Kelly, Debbie Reynolds is a shimmering work-a-holic, often quoting Katharine Hepburn: “As a performer, you sell it as the world buys it.” Debbie recently received her third star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame and was nominated for an Emmy for her hilarious turn on Will and Grace.

Barkin’ Beach Bash

Marston House museum and gardens

The George and Anna Marston House is now open for tours of this beautiful estate – house museum, gardens, and museum store in the Carriage House.

The Marston House Museum is one of San Diego’s finest examples of the arts and crafts movement and was constructed in 1905 for George W. Marston and his wife, Anna Gunn Marston. The house is only open by guided tours and the gardens are self guided.

Art Meets Fashion

L Street Fine Art Gallery presents an exhibition of works by San Diego based top finalists of the 2010 Art Meets Fashion online competition.

Paintings by Dan Adams, Duke Windsor, and Giedre Ferraz de Campos, photos by Dana Levine and John Valois, and collages by Moya Devine will be on display, featuring competition entries which interpret art and fashion as equal forces, along with additional selected works.

The landscapes of Kim Reasor

Noel-Baza Fine Art presents an exhibition of the offbeat landscapes of Kim Reasor. Reasor describes the artwork as “… the clash between nature and suburban sprawl.”

Timothy Bloom

Grammy Award winning Timothy Bloom brings his soulful solo project to Anthology.

Producing and collaborating with artists since he was 17, Bloom won a Grammy for Ne-Yo’s “Say It.” He has also worked with the legendary Smokey Robinson and has a production credit on Chris Brown’s new album F.A.M.E. Fusing R&B, hip hop, country, soul and rock, Bloom brings his exciting new sound to San Diego.
