NEW YORK, N.Y. – GLAAD have released a video featuring Will & Grace co-stars Debra Messing and Sean Hayes celebrating LGBTQ Pride Month and calling for LGBTQ people and allies to take part in LGBTQ marches on Sunday, June 11 in Los Angeles, Washington, D.C. and more than 50 cities nationwide.
In the video, which premiered Thursday on GLAAD’s Facebook page and Twitter handle, Messing and Hayes speak about the “&” movement and urge marginalized communities to stand together this LGBTQ Pride Month and beyond.
The Equality March in Washington, D.C., will feature several speakers, including Sara Ramirez and Asia Kate Dillon. The #ResistMarch in Los Angeles will include House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi, Congressman Adam Schiff, Congresswoman Maxine Waters, Jussie Smollett, Haim, Adam Lambert and Margaret Cho.
In conjunction with The Equality March for Unity and Pride planned in Washington, D.C. and several other marches around the country, The Equality March: San Diego is being organized for Sunday, June 11.
Community members will gather at 10 a.m. in Balboa Park at 6th Ave and Juniper St. and will step off to march at 11 a.m., and end at the southwest end of the County Administration Building on Pacific Highway at 12 noon for a rally.
The Together Movement, symbolized by the “&,” represents the power of marginalized voices together. The blue “&” pins previously appeared at the MTV Movie & TV Awards worn by Emma Watson, Millie Bobbie Brown, Trevor Noah and the cast of “Stranger Things”; at the Academy Awards worn by Sting, Brad Goreski and Colleen Atwood; at the Independent Spirit Awards worn by cast members of “Moonlight”; and the 28th annual GLAAD Media Awards.
The highly anticipated new season of “Will & Grace” premieres at 9 p.m. Thursdays this fall on NBC.
