HRC’s Chad Griffin demands action following Comey firing (VIDEO)

WASHINGTON — Today, Human Rights Campaign President had Griffin released a video message demanding action after the firing of FBI Director James Comey by President Donald Trump.

Comey was leading an investigation into the Trump campaign’s ties to Russia. Trump fired Comey on the recommendation of anti-LGBTQ Attorney General Jeff Sessions. Two months ago, Sessions recused himself from existing or future investigations related to the presidential campaigns after he lied under oath before the Senate Judiciary Committee regarding conversations he had with Russia during the 2016 election.

HRC has immediately called for Sessions to resign, and yesterday afternoon  joined other groups on the front lines at the White House to rally against this dangerous abuse of power and demand the appointment of a special prosecutor.

In his video message, Griffin calls on people to text “COMEY” to 30644 to be connected directly to your Senators to call for the appointment of a special prosecutor. “We can’t let Trump get away with covering up his campaign ties to Russia especially as they shamefully allow the detention and murder of LGBTQ people in Chechnya to continue,” said Griffin.
