George Michael’s boyfriend, Fadi Fawaz, a celebrity hairdresser, who had been in a relationship with the star since 2011 has told The Telegraph how he found the singer’s body on Christmas Day. Fawaz revealed how the singer-songwriter had died alone on Christmas morning, at the age of just 53.
“We were supposed to be going for Christmas lunch. I went round there to wake him up and he was just gone, lying peacefully in bed. We don’t know what happened yet,” Fawaz told The Telegraph.
“Everything had been very complicated recently, but George was looking forward to Christmas, and so was I.
“Now everything is ruined. I want people to remember him the way he was – he was a beautiful person.”
Fawaz also tweeted, “ITs a xmas i will never forget finding your partner dead peacefully in bed first thing in the morning.. I will never stop missing you xx”
The Telegraph also reported that Michael had battled a heroin addiction during 2016. A source told The Telegraph, “He’s been rushed to A&E on several occasions. He used heroin. I think it’s amazing he’s lasted as long as he has.”
Michael’s lawyers have denied he had a heroin addiction and police said the circumstances of his death are being treated as “unexplained but not suspicious”.
