Dec. 10 at 1 p.m., Lambda Archives will hold its annual board elections. After the board meeting and voting, at 2 until 4 p.m., the Archives will host a party to say thank you to its volunteers, current members and outgoing board members. The Archives board and staff will also be welcoming new members of the Archives and the new board.
All active members may vote on the nominees to the board. Anyone unsure of their current membership status may contact the Archives: info@LambdaArchives.org or 619-260-1522. Members may join or renew up until the time of the meeting.
RSVPs are requested for the meeting and party at info@LambdaArchives.org.
Longtime Board President Maureen Steiner is termed out. She said, “It has been an extremely gratifying experience, and I am so proud of all that the staff and board have accomplished during my service. I am very excited about the new board and direction for 2017.
“All are welcome to come to the meeting to hear our plans and stay for the open house at 2 o’clock.”
“There are many things in store for the Archives in the coming year and we are eager to tell everyone about them,” said head archivist Jen LaBarbera.
Also at the meeting and party, there will be an announcement of the upcoming membership and donor campaign for the Archives 30th anniversary next year.
The slate of new board candidates consists of Gina Bravo, San Diego Public Library;
Anna Culbertson, librarian, SDSU Special Collections; Rosemary Downing, fundraising professional; Ted Holmquist, attorney; and Kara Lin, development associate at The Center.
Write-in candidates are welcome as well.
Continuing board members are Fernando Lopez, Jackie Jackson, David Ramos, Joel Steward and Cindy Uybuncgo.
Although board members Maureen Steiner and Chuck Kaminski are termed out, they both plan to remain active in other capacities at the Archives.
