Walters v. SDPD: Gay kilt case five-year ordeal in 76 seconds (VIDEO)

SAN DIEGO — Will Walters was just 29 when he was inexplicably manhandled, assaulted and arrested for wearing a leather kilt at the 2011 San Diego LGBT Pride festival. For Walters,  the ensuing five years has been a quest for justice and overcoming myriad delays and challenges presented by the legal team of San Diego City Attorney Jan Goldsmith.

Watch the following video, premiered here by San Diego LGBT Weekly on the day Walters’ civil rights lawsuit against the San Diego Police Department  goes to trial. Walters alleges officers violated his 14th Amendment right to equal enforcement of the law.
