Last night, in very windy conditions Mary Lambert, #FindYourPark Ambassador, performed a pop-up concert in front of the first LGBTQ national park site, Stonewall National Monument.
Lambert performed a three-song set on a makeshift stage that was set up outside the historic gay site and urged the audience to sing along with her.
Singing about mental health, love and the LGBTQ community, Mary’s performance was in celebration of the recent “LGBTQ America: A Theme Study of Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, and Queer History” released by the National Park Service and the Obama Administration earlier this month.
Following her concert, Lambert toured the Stonewall National Monument with National Park Service rangers, discussing the importance of the monument to the LGBTQ community and how the National Park Service is committed to preserving LGBTQ history.
Proceeds from a celebrity auction held inside Stonewall benefited the National Park Foundation, which is raising funds to maintain the monument.
