SAN DIEGO, Calif. — Today, Queen Bee’s Arts and Cultural Center, a North Park small business and Main Street Alliance of San Diego member business, re-released “La Rata Blanca,” a music video (watch above) protesting the racist messages of Donald Trump.
The video features a collection of local Latino artists, musicians and dancers celebrating the strength, pride and passion of Latino culture in America.
“Queen Bee’s produced this video to give the voice of the San Diego Latino community a megaphone. We pointed it at Donald Trump but spoke to Latinos all over America,” says Alma Rodriguez, owner of Queen Bee’s Arts and Cultural Center. “Our message is strength, pride and celebration. We spoke through the language, art and culture of our Latino experience.”
The music video, translated to English as “The White Rat,” comes directly after Trump’s racist rhetoric in the last presidential debate including, “…we have some bad hombres here and we’re going to get them out.”
“We ‘bad hombres’ of San Diego are speaking loud and clear. We will not stand silent amidst hatred,” says Rodriguez.
