Woman arraigned for felony vandalism at Urban Mo’s

Raquel Bonilla

A San Diego woman pleaded not guilty Sept. 8 to felony vandalism of Urban Mo’s Bar & Grill when she allegedly threw rocks through a glass door after being ejected.

Raquel Bonilla, 22, of San Diego, was allowed to remain free on her own recognizance on condition she have no contact with the gay business located at 308 University Ave. in Hillcrest.

San Diego superior Court Judge Frederick Maguire set a Nov. 3 preliminary hearing.

The Aug. 8 incident was captured on camera surveillance when two women were seen throwing rocks through the glass door after Urban Mo’s had closed. The women got into a fight with others earlier and security had kicked them out.

In an interview with KUSI-TV, a security guard for Urban Mo’s said an employee looked at the camera footage and got Bonilla’s name from a bank card used for a drink purchase. The employee then identified Bonilla from her Facebook account, the guard said.

Bonilla’s Facebook account has since been deleted. The second woman in the camera footage has not been identified. The damage to the custom made door was estimated at $1,200.
