SAN DIEGO – AIDS Walk & Run San Diego has announced its premier sponsors for 2016 — Gilead Sciences, the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation and Sempra Energy. The 27th annual AIDS Walk will take place on Sat., Sept. 24.
“We are so grateful for the generous investment that Gilead Sciences, the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation and Sempra Energy have made in this event,” said Dr. Delores A. Jacobs, chief executive officer of The San Diego LGBT Community Center. AIDS Walk & Run is a program of The Center.
“The support of our premier sponsors – and everyone who contributes to this event – enables us to further raise HIV awareness, support local HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs, and continue our efforts to #BeTheGeneration that ends HIV as an epidemic,” Jacobs said.
“We are thankful to all of our sponsors who really help make this event happen,” said Ian Johnson, director of events for The Center. “It is truly inspiring to see a growing list of businesses and organizations join us for this event and to support our collective efforts to fight HIV in San Diego.”
Each year, AIDS Walk & Run San Diego generates vital funding for local HIV/AIDS service organizations, honors those lost to this disease and helps raise awareness about the impact of HIV and AIDS in our community.
