More than 423,000 people in San Diego County do not have enough food every day for a healthy, active life. The CalFresh Challenge encourages participants to experience what life can be like for many of our neighbors who rely on CalFresh as they struggle to avoid hunger, afford nutritious food and stay healthy with very limited resources. In San Diego, the average CalFresh allotment for each person is only $4.27 per day or $29.89 for the week.
Join the San Diego Hunger Coalition in helping raise awareness of hunger and gain a new perspective on how hard it is to eat healthy on a limited budget.
Take the Challenge for one day Monday, Sept. 19 or challenge yourself to continue for up to a week through Sunday, Sept. 25.
