The owner of the Pulse gay nightclub, Barbara Poma, is speaking out for the first time since the mass shooting that took the lives of 49 people at the club. She speaks with TODAY’s Matt Lauer about how she learned of the tragedy, the loss of one of her employees and how she plans to honor the victims.
Poma says she created the club in honor of her brother, who was gay: “It was supposed to be a safe place.”
