Pat Robertson, an anti-gay minister popularly featured on The 700 Club, suggested in a recent interview that liberals support abortion rights because they want to put lesbians and straight women on a “level playing field,” according to recent reports.
In a recent debate on The 700 Club Roberston asks cohost Terry Meeuwsen, “What advantage does a [lesbian] have over a married woman?”
“Well, she can’t have children…” replies Meeuwsen.
Meanwhile, hundreds of thousands of lesbians worldwide have children and raise children like any child-bearing woman can.
Robertson replies, “That’s exactly right. And so if these married women don’t have children, if they abort their babies, then that kind of puts them on a level playing field.”
