Based on a cult graphic novel, Preacher is the story of a dejected minister in small town Texas who is given mysterious supernatural abilities for unclear reasons. It’s a mix of horror, fantasy and superheroics, and it’s wildly fun and very weird. Produced by Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg, the show stars Dominic Cooper as the preacher Jesse Custer, Joseph Gilgun as a vampire who literally falls out of the sky, and Ruth Negga as Jesse’s super soldier romantic interest. Pulpy, slapstick and very, very sacrilegious, Preacher has great potential to drive the religious right nuts and entertain you on Sunday nights (or whenever you choose to watch it).
