LGBT film festival seeking screenwriters, filmmakers and content creators

URFFNEW YORK — The Urban Rainbow Film Festival is seeking works from screenwriters, filmmakers and web-content creators from the LGBT(Q)I(A) community to be featured at an event sponsored by Final Draft, Inc and FilmFreeway.com. It is a live and online film festival to be hosted at New York City, from July 27-31.

Deadlines for Submissions are 05/30/16, with an extended deadline of 06/30/16.

“We are glad to announce that we are soon to come up with the debut season of our film festival dedicated to the lesbian, gay, transsexual, bisexual, questioning, intersexual and All Our Ally People of Color-it’s going to be a great glamorous, edgy and uber festival where anything can happen. To make our event successful, we are looking for great films, screenplays and web series from the LGBT(Q)I(A) screenwriters, filmmakers and web-content creators out there”, stated a leading spokesperson from Urban Rainbow.

URFF is an endeavor by N. Mabasa-Mathope who is a New York and Los Angeles based director, screenwriter and producer. He is also the leader for Urbanworld Film Festival Production Team sponsored by BET and HBO–apart from being the lead of HBO sponsored Pan African Film Festival Production Crew.

The new festival is aimed to celebrate stories and images that mirror lives of diversified LGBT(Q)I(A) people. It stands as a gender-inclusive multi-ethnic platform for short and feature-length films ranging from documentaries, narratives, animated films to web content about, of interest and by the LGBT(Q)I(A) community.

“Held over 5 days, our festival would be pulling in more than 5,000 attendees from our community, added to traditional attendees, stellar names from the entertainment industry and major donors. It’s going to be a huge affair no doubt and we promise you a grand exposure for your works before a massive enlightened and educated audience,” added the spokesperson.
