OUT Magazine announces 2016 Hit List

Today, OUT.com published its annual Hit List, formerly known as the Hot List, for 2016 containing the summer’s hottest names and projects slated for this year.  Each year, OUT magazine curates its Hit List containing the most influential names across music, fashion, and entertainment that are currently shaping our culture today.  Check out this year’s Hit List below:

• Tegan & Sara – the sister duo has left moody alt-rock behind for greener pastures: mainstream pop. Forging a career that transgresses the boundaries of alternative rock and dives into infectious pop is new ground for the dynamic duo.  The sisters talk to OUT about their relationship and new upcoming album, Love You to Death, out June 3^rd.
• Nyle DiMarco – the America’s Next Top Model winner and current Dancing With the Stars contestant, recently launched the ASL App. and founded the Nyle DiMarco Foundation to improve the lives of deaf people through promoting bilingual education.  The professional model talks to OUT about life after winning the last season of ANTM.
• Rufus Wainwright – with a new album drawing on Shakespeare’s sonnets and a revival of his acclaimed Judy Garland songbook show at Carnegie Hall, the pioneering musician looms large this summer -but he’s more interested in the long view.
• Imogen Poots – the British actress talks about her intriguing role on Showtime’s hit series Roadies and an upcoming project with Andy Samberg, Popstar: Never Stop Never Stopping
• Bindle & Keep – founded by Daniel Friedman and Rae Tutera, the Brooklyn based company specializes in suiting up their trans clients with the latest fashionable threads that make them feel comfortable and in-style
• Cameron Esposito – one of comedy’s most notable female comedians talks about what it’s like for a new generation of comics that can begin their careers talking about being out as well as her recent debut in mainstream film and television.
• Huw Collins – the 28-year-old breakout actor talks to OUT about his role on the hit series Pretty Little Liars and how the series helped launch his career
• DarkMatter – the trans South Asian performers Alok Vaid-Menon and Janani Balasubramanian from New York City tell the bitter truth. The trans performance artists talk to OUT about their work, which they describe as a “collage,” and what it’s like to perform sold-out shows at in New York.
