The Board of Directors of the Imperial Court de San Diego has announced that Ms. Summer Lee has been named the 44th reigning emperor of the Imperial Court de San Diego. Ms. Lee succeeds James Von Rothschild, whose abdication was recently announced.
Summer Lee becomes the second lesbian to become emperor of San Diego’s oldest LGBT organization, which will celebrate its 45th anniversary January 2017.
A California native, Emperor Summer Lee has been involved with the San Diego Court for over six years. She was a Crown Prince titleholder, and a former board member of the San Diego Rodeo Association. Emperor Lee has been a volunteer for the “Buddy Program” of the former San Diego AIDS Project. She continues to be very active with the Lupus Foundation of Southern California, and is a past board member and long-time volunteer.
Emperor Lee has been with her partner, Julie Hoffman, for over 31 years. Ms. Hoffman is with the AIDS Healthcare Foundation. Emperor Summer Lee will reign with her elected Empress 44, Jaeda Reign Saunders Too.
