PITTSBURGH — The Delta Foundation of Pittsburgh announced Friday that Heather Bresch, CEO of Mylan, one of the world’s leading pharmaceutical companies, will be the first-ever CEO to participate in the Pittsburgh Pride Equality March on Sunday, June 12. The company also is sponsoring a new initiative called the Mylan Wellness Village that will offer free wellness exams related to sexually transmitted infections (STI) and HIV, and counseling on Pre-exposure prophylaxis (PrEP), a medicine taken daily to help prevent HIV.
“We are proud to partner with Mylan, a company with Pittsburgh roots, in this year’s Pittsburgh Pride event. Heather’s participation as the first CEO to ever walk in the Equality March speaks volumes about Mylan’s commitment to fostering a culture that is inclusive and diverse,” said Gary Van Horn, President of the Delta Foundation. “We appreciate Mylan’s support and commitment to helping to make Pittsburgh’s LGBT community healthier.”
Mylan is dedicated to creating better health for a better world. The company’s commitment to expanding access to high quality medicine spans more than 50 years. It was founded in White Sulphur Springs, West Virginia and has had a presence in the greater Pittsburgh area for the last 46 years. One of Mylan’s key priorities is stemming the tide of HIV/AIDS. The company is the world’s largest producer of antiretrovirals (ARV) and approximately 50% of people receiving treatment today for HIV/AIDS in the developing world depend on a Mylan product.

The Mylan Wellness Village will be located on Liberty Avenue in downtown Pittsburgh. It will be open during Pride in the Street with Kesha on Saturday, June 11 (ticket is required) and during PrideFest on Sunday, June 12 (free event).
