SAN DIEGO – Dining Out for Life® San Diego is issuing a community-wide appeal for volunteers to serve as Ambassadors for the 10th annual Dining Out for Life® on Thursday, April 28, 2016. All interested volunteers are invited to attend a Dining Out for Life® Ambassador training.
Dining Out For Life® Ambassadors are volunteers who welcome diners, help fill restaurants, share information to increase HIV awareness and generate vital funds in support of the event.
“Volunteer Ambassadors are so important to the overall success of Dining Out for Life,” said Sarah Merk-Benitez, volunteer coordinator for The Center. “In addition to helping us meet our fundraising goals, Ambassadors make this event a welcoming and a community-building experience for diners. We invite all potential volunteers to consider serving as Ambassadors this year.”
Dining Out For Life® Ambassadors are required to attend a training session. Training sessions will take place at variety of locations. The training schedule is:
• Tuesday, March 29 from 6-7pm at Kous Kous Moroccan Bistro
• Wednesday, April 6 from 6-7pm at Babycakes
• Saturday, April 9 from 10:30-11:30am at The Center
• Thursday, April 14 from 6-7pm at Baja Betty’s
To become a volunteer Ambassador, get more information or register for a training, contact Sarah Merk-Benitez at (619) 692-2077, ext. 202 or via e-mail at volunteer@thecentersd.org.
Each year, Dining Out For Life® brings out thousands of people to dine at some of San Diego’s best restaurants and bars – which have generously agreed to donate 25 percent or more of their food and liquor sales on that day – all in support of HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs at The Center. Everyone can participate by simply dining out for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner at the participating establishments on Thursday, April 28.
