The 2016 Women’s Film Festival continues with the screening of Alice Walker: The Beauty in Truth Sunday, March 20 at 4:30 p.m.
The Festival, put on by The Women’s Museum of California aims to educate and inspire future generations about the experiences and contributions of women through the art of film.
Alice Walker: Beauty In Truth is a feature documentary film which tells the compelling story of an extraordinary woman’s journey from her birth in a paper-thin shack in cotton fields of Putnam County, Georgia to her recognition as a key writer of the 20th Century.

Many college students who have been raped on campus face retaliation and harassment as they fight for justice. The Hunting Ground is an exposé of rape crimes on U.S. college campuses, their institutional cover-ups, and the devastating toll they take on students and their families.
Sunday, March 27, 4:30 p.m.: Film Screening of Underexposed: A Women’s Skateboarding Documentary
UNDEREXPOSED is an acclaimed documentary film that highlights women’s skateboarding and analyzes the skate industry’s approach to female skateboarders. By analyzing the media and marketing tactics of the skateboarding industry, we can learn how to increase opportunities for girls and women who want to pursue skateboarding.
