After racking up more than 50 accusations from women of sexual assault or unwanted advances, Bill Cosby will finally face criminal charges in Pennsylvania.
Montgomery County District Attorney-elect Kevin Steele announced today that Cosby will face charges of aggravated indecent assault which is a felony of the first degree.
The Huffington Post reported that the charges relate to the alleged drugging and sexual assault of Andrea Constand in 2004. The case was reopened after authorities saw evidence in previously sealed court documents and heard of allegations against Cosby from other women.
“Reopening this case was not a question. Rather, reopening this case was our duty,” Steele said.
Cosby has always maintained that any sexual contact he had with Constand was consensual.
