The Buettner family announced Saturday the passing of Ted Buettner, the popular owner of Pecs Bar, Thursday Oct. 22.
A statement on Facebook read, “It is with heavy hearts that the Pecs Family announces the passing of Ted Buettner, the owner of Pecs Bar. He loved Pecs very much, and he will be greatly missed. We send our best wishes of strength and peace to Ted’s family and his many friends and loved ones.”
A service celebrating Ted’s life will be held today at 4 p.m. at the Torrey Pines Christian Church, 8320 La Jolla Scenic Drive N. in La Jolla.
The family has asked that in lieu of flowers to make any contributions to unicefusa.org/donate, donaunicef.org.mx or to the Torrey Pines Church.
Pecs will be opening at 6 p.m. today.
