Martini’s Above Fourth premieres The Laugh Out Proud Comedy Show, featuring local LGBT comedians Sean Wherley, Lauren Holiday, Larry Tadlock and headliner Sarah Burford. China Philharmonic Orchestra

La Jolla Music Society presents the China Philharmonic Orchestra, one of Asia’s leading symphonic ensembles. The China Philharmonic Orchestra, created by the former China Broadcasting Symphony Orchestra, marks both the beginning of a new chapter in the history of symphonic music in China, and the start of China’s increasingly active role in the performance of western classical music.

Maestro Long Yu, artistic director of the China Philharmonic Orchestra, conducts the concert and Renaud Capuçon is the violin soloist on the tour.

Broadway San Diego presents Stomp, an explosive, provocative, sophisticated, sexy and utterly unique show that appeals to audiences of all ages. The international percussion sensation has garnered an armful of awards and rave reviews, and has appeared on numerous national television shows.

The eight-member troupe uses everything but conventional percussion instruments – matchboxes, wooden poles, brooms, garbage cans, Zippo lighters, hubcaps – to fill the stage with magnificent rhythms.
