It has been almost a year since the self-styled Coronado Islander Ladies united in an amazing and unprecedented show of kindness, support, and love to give gay couple Oscar and Gary a “Do-Over” wedding after a homophobic heckler ruined their big day.
Since then the Islander Ladies formed a non-profit to actively confront hate and better our society and this coming weekend they will be holding their first official fundraiser – Coronado’s first beer festival: Beer by the Bay!
“To bring people together for some fun, festivity and fundraising we are hosting Coronado’s first beer festival,” said co-founder Alisa Kerr. “Join us for unlimited tastings of brews from some of San Diego’s best craft breweries, great live music from island bands, signature Bay views, and tons of fun in the sun with your friends and neighbors at the Coronado Ferry Landing Oct. 10, 2015 from 12-5 p.m. We are really excited to bring the community together and proud to continue the mission that was started by people’s response to the coverage of Oscar and Gary’s wedding.”
So, come and enjoy a local beer fest like no other: Island Style! Held at the festive Ferry Landing, this event is easy to get to by ferry, water taxi, or a short cab ride from the “mainland” over the iconic Bay Bridge. Get your tickets now for an incredible day!
Advance general admission tickets are $50.
With your admission you’ll receive unlimited tastes of your favorite brews, an official Beer by the Bay souvenir cup, live music from fantastic local bands, photo booth fun, swag bags for the first 100, a super relaxed vibe with signature bay breezes, and more!
