A British prison official is going to jail after selling information about George Michael to the British tabloid, The Sun.
Amanda Watts, 43, will be sentenced next month after admitting to supplying The Sun five pieces of information about Michael while he was serving time in Highpoint Prison, reports The Guardian. She was paid £2,100 ($3,200) by the tabloid.
Watts was granted bail until Oct. 16 but was warned by the judge that she faces time. She wept as the judge told her, “You should understand the fact I’m bailing you until then is to enable you to make appropriate arrangements. A prison sentence is inevitable. I’m sure you understand.”
Michael has had numerous run-ins with the law. Aug. 24 2010, the singer pleaded guilty at Highbury Corner Magistrates’ Court in London after admitting driving under the influence of drugs and Sept. 14, 2010 at the same court, was sentenced to eight weeks in Highpoint Prison, a fine, and a five-year ban from driving. Michael was released Oct. 11 2010, after serving four weeks.
