For reasons as yet unknown, Charles Robbins has resigned from his position as executive director of the Trevor Project. The organization’s board of directors announced Robbins’ resignation via email, but failed to note any reason for his departure.

According to the Trevor Project’s website, David McFarland is currently serving as interim executive director and chief executive officer.

During his four-year tenure at the Trevor Project, Robbins reportedly contributed to the growth of the organization’s full-time staff from five to 24 employees, and the development of an annual budget that has quadrupled to $4 million.

The board of directors did not disclose any details concerning Charles Robbins’ resignation, but they did expressly thank the former executive director for his “years of service” and wished him well in his “future endeavors.”
