Lily Rubenstein came out to her family as transgender when she was 12. The Southern California native, now 15, told Fox 11 Los Angeles that she hopes to inspire others struggling with their identity by speaking publicly.
“I’m proud to be able to represent the trans community and be able to let people know that you shouldn’t be afraid to come out,” said Rubenstein “And that there are people who will support you, and there are other people like you.”
