ATLANTA, Ga. – Gayborhood, a division of Carma Productions, announced today that the company will launch a new fundraising initiative called Gayborhood Gives Back. The Atlanta-based company will kick off their campaign with an event on April 2nd in their home city benefitting the Trevor Project, the leading national organization providing crisis intervention and suicide prevention services to lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, & questioning young people ages 13-24.
“Gayborhood Gives Back was started as another way to further our corporate mission. We are committed to servicing the LGBTQ community through the production of the nation’s most comprehensive LGBTQ resource directory,” states Thomas Ryan-Lawrence, chief operations officer and partner of Carma Productions, Inc. “A large part of that mission is to support local LGBTQ non-profits that work tirelessly to make life better for the community. Our community has continued to support us over the years by patronizing the gay-friendly businesses that advertise with Gayborhood; now, as we’ve become a truly national resource, it’s time to give back on a national level.”
Subsequent events are being planned in; Austin, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, Ft. Lauderdale, Houston, Los Angeles, Orlando, Philadelphia, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, San Diego and Tampa. Each event will consist of a drawing for prizes with all proceeds going to The Trevor Project. Gayborhood is partnering with select local LGBT Chambers of Commerce to raise awareness of the events.

At the end of the day, our only goal is to raise money for a very deserving charity that will make the world a better place for the LGBTQ community,” Ryan-Lawrence states. “With Gayborhood’s reach expanding further than ever before, we knew it was important to select a program that also had a national reach.
The Trevor Project works every day to support and save the lives of LGBTQ youth. The organization helps to create a world where we don’t have to fear coming out, or be bullied for loving someone. “We want to help support them in providing the resources they need to make their mission happen. If we don’t protect and support today’s LGBTQ youth, there won’t be a tomorrow worth saving,” he adds.
