SAN DIEGO – The San Diego Gay Men’s Chorus (SDGMC) recently received major funding of $11,300 from the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation (SDHDF) Matching Grant Program.
The funds were presented at SDGMC’s latest rehearsal on behalf of SDHDF and its Executive Director John Brown and presented by SDHDF Grants & Finance Mhttps://lgbtweekly.jeffjungblut.com/wp-admin/post-new.php?post_type=postanager Des Kelly and Development Director Janelle Hickey. Receiving the award on behalf of SDGMC were President Bob Lehman, Vice President David Pierce and Artistic Director RC Haus.
“We are so incredibly grateful to the San Diego Human Dignity Foundation and to everyone who supports the performing arts in our community,” noted Pierce. “It is with this financial endowment that we are able change lives one voice at a time through music.”
The grant will help SDGMC produce its 30th Anniversary Year kickoff show Greatest Hits—Volume One on April 18 and 19 at the Balboa Theatre. Special funding will go directly toward the launching of the SD Youth Pride Chorus, SDGMC’s new group for singers ages 13 to 22.
