Re: Firing of Atlanta fire chief by Atlanta mayor

Dear Editor

All hail the firing of homophobic Atlanta Fire Chief Kelvin Cochran, for distribution of homophobic religious literature, to Atlanta City employees. Mayor Kasim Reed is to be commended, for his actions.
Former Fire Chief Cochran whines about discrimination, based on religious belief, but no government employee has a constitutional right to harass, humiliate, or intimidate other government employees, based on religious belief. That’s not freedom of religion, but, rather, license and even tyranny of religion.
Atlanta Mayor Kasim Reed has met the test and criteria of President John F. Kennedy’s Profiles In Courage. Sic semper tyrannus (“Thus be it always to tyrants!”)!

Sincerely,

STEVEN L. KENDALL
