Los Angeles LGBT Center honors George and Brad Takei at 45th Anniversary Vanguard Awards

Saturday, the Los Angeles LGBT Center hosted the 45th Anniversary Vanguard Awards, honoring longtime LGBT activists George and Brad Takei who accepted the International Vanguard Award, presented by Tab Hunter; Marvel Entertainment who received the Corporate Vanguard Award, accepted by Marvel’s Vice President of Animation Development and Partnerships Courtney Lane, presented by Holland Taylor; and Los Angeles County Supervisor Zev Yaroslavsky who received the organization’s Rand Schrader Distinguished Achievement Award.

Guests of the high-profile event enjoyed a cocktail reception and silent auction, followed by a show and dinner, all while mingling with L.A.’s movers and shakers who support the LGBT community. Guests included: Florence Henderson, Lisa Vanderpump and Ken Todd (Vanderpump Rules), Elizabeth Henstridge (Agents of SHIELD), Alex Newell (Glee), Lawrence Pressman (Transparent), Jay Duplass (Transparent), Wilson Cruz (Red Band Society), Shane Bitney Crone (executive producer and star of Bridegroom), Barrett Foa (NCIS Los Angeles), comedian Bruce Vilanch, DJ Eli Lieb, Wendy Burch (KTLA News Anchor), and Rosa Blasi (The Thundermans).
