Out & Equal Workplace Advocates, the largest nonprofit organization dedicated exclusively to workplace equality for LGBT employees, has produced a public service announcement to highlight the fact that employees can still be fired in over half the country for being LGBT.
Employees lack job protections across the country on the basis of sexual orientation and/or gender identity. Workers can be fired in 29 states simply for being lesbian, gay or bisexual; the number of states increases to 32 for transgender employees. Out & Equal is committed to increasing workplace protections for LGBT employees to create safer and more equitable work environments.
