The First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego will be hosting a city-wide event, Celebrating Who We Are: Diversity and Inclusiveness in San Diego, Wednesday, Sept. 17 at their location in the heart of Hillcrest, 4190 Front Street directly across from the UCSD Medical Center.
Communities throughout San Diego are invited to participate in this facilitated conversation about diversity and inclusiveness in our neighborhoods. The evening will begin at 6:30 p.m. with an Interfaith Panel moderated by Rev. Kathleen Owens, lead minister of the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego, and will highlight speakers including Imam Taha Hassane, director of the Islamic Center of San Diego and Rabbi Laurie Coskey, executive director of the Interfaith Center for Worker Justice. After the panel, there will be neighborhood-based conversations in small groups about what we can do to foster greater inclusiveness in our communities.
