Dear Editor,
Stampp’s standing up to Nicole is brave and badly needed. Nicole has stayed at the party way too long and it’s time to go. Have you ever zipped up too fast and gotten your nuts caught in the zipper? Well, that is what 40 plus years of Nicole feels like.
Someday the zipper will have to be lowered. It will sting for a few seconds, but we will all be better off. Grit your teeth San Diego, Stampp bravely took the first step for all of us – and we need to stand with him.
We in the LGBT community have evolved so completely that Nicole’s silly shenanigans that worked in 1974 are woefully out of date today. My question is: Why do we keep putting up with it? We are a highly educated LGBT community.
So I ask everyone, including myself: Why do we let this awful-irritating person have so much power? Correct me if I am wrong, but in a city like San Francisco or Los Angeles, someone like Nicole wouldn’t get to first base. My good friend in Lexington, Kentucky said it best: “That Bozo’s gotten awfully stale.” How long Nicole stays relevant is up to us. Will Nicole still be writing a column and hosting Nightmare in 2020? Gosh, I hope not!
