Transgender activist and LGBT Weekly columnist, Autumn Sandeen, was interviewed about the first ever Trans Pride march and barbeque. Sandeen compared the struggle of transgender people with that of gays and lesbians. “More people know us, more trans people are out, more people know somebody who’s transgender. We’re having the same experience as gays and lesbians had during gay liberation,” said Sandeen.
The report on Channel 6 news was surprisingly supportive and the reporter John Carroll ended by saying, “A newer struggle, wound together with an older one … both after the same thing, dignity, respect, the pride that comes with being a human who is free.”
Beautiful…take a look.
