VA San Diego Health Care System to honor LGBT veterans: July 14

VA San Diego Health Care System will host a Pride Flag ceremony to honor LGBT military veterans  Monday, July 14 at 8:30 a.m. on the San Diego VA Medical Center lawn. The ceremony will feature five flags donated from LGBT community organizations and will be flown during Pride Week July 14-20.

Organizations providing flags are The Center, San Diego LGBT Pride, Greater San Diego Business Association (LGBT Chamber of Commerce), Human Rights Campaign (San Diego Chapter) and the American Military Partners Association. The ceremony will feature speeches by each organization, followed by a flag presentation to the VA San Diego Healthcare System Director Jeffrey Gering. At the end of the ceremony, VA San Diego Healthcare System will attach the five pride flags under five American flags for display during the week until July 20.
