Pride coming ‘Out at the Park’

Tickets for San Diego LGBT Pride’s annual ‘Out at the Park’ with the San Diego Padres are now available at the Pride office and various outlets throughout Hillcrest. This year’s event, scheduled for 5:35 p.m., May 7, also features a pre-tailgate party replete with hot dogs, hamburgers, beer, cocktails and soft drinks.

The party will be from 3:30 to 5 p.m., on the same day at Imperial Avenue and 14th Street. Tickets to the game at Petco Park are $15; and tailgate admission is $5, which includes food and beverages.

A special section in the upper infield of the stadium has been reserved by San Diego Pride as a way of showing collective community support for the home team.

“The outing at Petco Park has become one of San Diego Pride’s most popular events leading up to our annual summer celebration in July,” says Frank Scarpaci, interim executive director for San Diego Pride. “We’ve consolidated the seating this year as a way of bringing LGBT attendees and their supporters together in a show of team spirit and solidarity.”

Tickets for the May 7 game are available through the San Diego Pride office, as well as Urban Mo’s, Hairspray, Obelisk Book Store, House Boi and Mankind.
