SAN DIEGO – San Diego Opera announced today that it and General Director and Artistic Director Ian D. Campbell and Deputy General Director Ann Spira Campbell have ended their formal association with each other.
In a short press release San Diego Opera stated, “The Opera acknowledges and thanks Ian and Ann for their dedication and contributions to the Opera over the past many years. At the same time, the Opera also acknowledges that current differences with them need to be resolved. Ian Campbell, Ann Spira Campbell and the Opera have agreed to try and resolve their differences in an amicable manner and no further comments will be made at this time.”
Monday, May 19, is San Diego Opera’s last scheduled day of operations. The Board of Directors will be voting on the future of the Company. A press conference scheduled for Monday, May 19, at 10 a.m. in front of the San Diego Civic Theatre. will report on the result of that vote.
