LOS ANGELES — Point Foundation have announced that founders and board members Bruce C. Lindstrom and Carl T. Strickland have resigned. Due to the breadth and diversity of the Foundation’s board, no replacements have been named.
“It has been a pleasure to work with Bruce and Carl, and I am proud of what we have accomplished together in pursuit of providing access to higher education for LGBTQ students of merit,” said Jorge Valencia, executive director and chief executive officer of Point Foundation. “On behalf of the many lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer students who have been empowered by Point Foundation, I would like to thank Bruce and Carl for their many contributions to the Foundation.”
From its first class of eight scholars in 2002, Point Foundation has enabled more than 250 scholars to study at some of the country’s finest institutions in a wide range of academic fields. Today, the organization is thriving, making a significant impact on society by providing deserving LGBTQ students opportunities for higher education.
