SAN DIEGO – Organizers at The San Diego LGBT Community Center hope to recruit even more local restaurants and bars to participate in the eighth annual Dining Out for Life® San Diego Thursday, April 24.
“This year’s Dining Out for Life San Diego is shaping up to be a record-breaking fundraiser,” said Ian Johnson, director of special events for The Center. “The commitment to the success of this event and to the fight against HIV is completely inspiring. We are so grateful to the establishments that have already committed to participating in 2014 and look forward to adding even more to the roster.”
Dining Out for Life’s success comes from the enthusiastic community efforts to fill some of San Diego’s best and most generous restaurants in support of this dynamic fundraising event. Participating establishments agree to donate 25-100 percent of their food and liquor sales on that day to benefit The Center’s HIV/AIDS services and prevention programs. Everyone can participate by simply dining out with family and friends for breakfast, lunch and/or dinner at the participating restaurants April 24.
For the second year in a row, all three Mission restaurant locations (North Park, Mission Beach and SoMa/East Village) will be donating 100 percent of their sales from that day to Dining Out for Life San Diego. The Mission has been a participant in Dining Out for Life since it first began in San Diego.
In addition, Barrio Star, Wang’s North Park and Martini’s Above Fourth Table + Stage have also committed to participate again, with each donating 50 percent of their sales to Dining Out for Life.
The deadline for restaurants and bars to sign up is Feb. 27. For more information on the event, or to sign up your business, please contact Ian Johnson at ijohnson@thecentersd.org or (619) 692-2077, ext. 247.
