Hillcrest Mardi Gras takes to the streets

The 10th annual Hillcrest Mardi Gras takes over the San Diego streets on Fat Tuesday, March 8, with the party taking place on University Avenue between First and Fourth Avenues. The festival is 6-11 p.m.

The event is sponsored by the Greater San Diego Business Association (GSDBA) Charitable Foundation and the Hillcrest Business Association. All proceeds from the street party benefit both organizations.

With more than 2,000 people expected, Hillcrest Mardi Gras is a fun-filled evening featuring games, vendors, food, live entertainment and costumes. Kimberly S. is spinning in the dance tent and Wendy Ho headlines the main stage performances.

Advance ticket price is $15 for general admission ($20 at the door) and $50 for a VIP Pass ($75 at the door). VIP passes include express entry, private reception area and private bathrooms. Hillcrest Mardi Gras is a 21 and older event.

Tickets are available at the following Hillcrest area locations: Baja Betty’s at 1421 University Ave.; Urban Mo’s at 308 University Ave.; and Obelisk Bookstore at 1029 University Ave. Tickets are also available online at hillcrestmardigras.org.
