Residence Inn hosts travel-focused evening with LGBT community on Twitter

BETHESDA, Md. — Residence Inn by Marriott is partnering with Mombian.com and the Family Equality Council to host a travel-focused Twitter party for all parents who are lesbian, gay, bisexual and/or transgender (LGBT).  Nov. 6,  from 9:00-10:00 p.m. EST, families and experts representing the LGBT community will participate in a conversation that aims to provide travel resources, tips, as well as stories of inspiration.

To speak to Residence Inn’s commitment to the LGBT community and family travel, the brand is collaborating with Dana Rudolph, founder of Mombian.com, to moderate the hour-long conversation. Mombian.com is a leading lifestyle blog for lesbian moms and other LGBT parents. Top experts from the Family Equality Council will be on hand to answer questions and offer their perspectives. Family Equality Council is a national advocacy organization committed to securing legal and social equality for families with parent(s) who are LGBT. Director of Public Policy Emily Hecht-McGowan will offer legal insight, and Midwest Regional Manager Kim Simes will share her travel tips. Topics of the conversation will include:

  • Legal and practical aspects of traveling interstate and internationally
  • General tips for hitting the road with kids in tow
  • Extended stays out-of-state or internationally during an adoption process

The conversation will be hosted by TravelingMom.com, a multi-platform media company dedicated to making the family travel experience more enjoyable. This is the latest initiative from Residence Inn, a brand that aims to recognize parents for all that they do. Earlier this year, the Family Travel Talk forum launched on Facebook to provide an online platform for families to discuss, ask questions about and provide tips on travel. With spacious suites featuring full kitchens, complimentary hot breakfast, laundry facilities and free grocery delivery, Residence Inn is the perfect solution for travel and extended-stay trips to make parents’ lives easier.

With more than 600 properties in the United States, Canada, Europe, the Middle East and Central America, Residence Inn by Marriott is the leader in the extended-stay lodging segment. Designed for long stays, the brand offers spacious suites with separate living and sleeping areas. Fully functional kitchens, grocery delivery, 24-hour markets and complimentary breakfast help guests maintain a healthy balance while on the road. Complimentary Wi-Fi allows guests to stay connected to the home and office, while health and fitness options and inviting lobby spaces provide comfortable places to work and relax.
