Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, a California adoption agency based in Los Angeles, was awarded an HRC Foundation’s All Children – All Families seal of recognition at the RaiseAChild.US Harvest Celebration at Mauro Café Fred Segal Melrose Oct. 1. ACAF trainer Rob Woronoff presented the seal to Louis Josephson, PhD, the CEO of Vista Del Mar Child and Family Services, for implementing fully inclusive policies in working with LGBT families. The occasion also marks the new partnership between Vista del Mar and RaiseAChild.US, a nonprofit that encourages the LGBT community to build families through fostering and adoption.

“It is an honor to be recognized for our commitment to the LGBTQ community by an organization of such caliber as the Human Rights Campaign as well as to be working in partnership with RaiseAChild,” shared Dr. Josephson.

“RaiseAChild.US is thrilled to be working with Vista Del Mar, which has an excellent track record in working with the LGBT community,” says Rich Valenza, Founder and CEO of RaiseAChild.US. “Together we will find even more safe, loving, and permanent homes for waiting foster children.”

“We are thrilled to welcome the Adoption & Foster Care Program at Vista Del Mar into the community of child welfare organizations that are truly committed to creating more loving families by removing barriers to qualified LGBT adoptive parents.  It is wonderful that LGBT individuals and couples in California have a trusted resource to turn to when pursuing adoption,” added Ellen Kahn, HRC’s Family Project Director.

The Adoption Program at Vista Del Mar is one of the largest, most experienced, state licensed, adoption agencies in California offering infant domestic adoption, international adoption and foster adoption.  As a full service Adoption Program, established in 1948, Vista has been assisting families in adopting locally, nationally and internationally for more than 65 years. Vista’s International Program is Hague accredited. Always at the forefront, Vista Del Mar was a leader in facilitating open adoptions between birth families and adoptive families and in opening the doors to adoption and foster care in the LGBTQ community in Los Angeles.
