NEW YORK – Out rapper and lyricist LastO is set to release his debut album, Where’s Vivian? Oct. 22 worldwide on iTunes, Amazon and other major online retailers via SolRay Records. With an indisputible underground buzz generated by five years worth of acclaimed mixtapes and EP’s,LastO is excited to finally deliver his strongest musical effort yet.
Gracing headlines just last month when he commented on Macklemore’s controversial VMA win, LastO is eager to present another facet of the gay community. Sans colorful wigs, playful melodies and campy references, Where’s Vivian? is a collection of hard-hitting anthems, resonant lyrics and undeniable flows similar more to that of Jay-Z than Lil’ Kim.
The New York rapper had this to say, “I think that the inspiration for the album came from an adult place. I was starting to feel like everyone around me was convinced that you had to be a caricature… and they were trying to convince me too. For a moment, I think I was convinced but I decided to let go of conventional wisdom and take a leap.Vivian is that leap.”
As LastO is positioned to be a new face in hip-hop, a music video will be released next month on VEVO to accompany the 16-track album.
