Lambda Archives honors LGBT elected officials; hosts reception on National Coming Out Day Oct. 11

Sept. 6, Lambda Archives San Diego (LASD) honored San Diego’s past and current openly LGBT elected officials at its 6th annual Heroes, Pioneers, and Trailblazers Event at Marine Corps Recruit Depot San Diego. San Diego’s 20 year span of elected LGBT officials honored included:

Christine Kehoe – retired California state senator, former state assemblymember and former San Diego City councilmember

Bonnie Dumanis – San Diego County district attorney and former San Diego Superior Court judge

Toni Atkins – state assemblymember and former San Diego City councilmember

Gloria – San Diego City councilmember, interim mayor

Steve Padilla – former mayor and City councilmember, City of Chula Vista

Frank Tierney – former Coronado City councilmember

Carl DeMaio – former San Diego City councilmember

Kevin Beiser – vice-president, San Diego Board of Education

Dave Roberts – Former councilmember and mayor, City of Solano Beach, supervisor, San Diego County Board of Supervisors

Lambda Archives of San Diego is hosting a reception of its new exhibit, 20 Years at the Table on National Coming Out Day Oct. 11, 5 to 7:30 p.m. at their location in University Heights at 4545 Park Blvd. in the Diversionary Theatre Cultural Center.
